NDIS Resources

We are here to help you through your NDIS Journey

Wings of Support Lead by example in all aspects of best practice in delivering a range of person-centred services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), supporting participants to achieve greater independence, wellbeing, confidence, and community inclusion.

We work closely with participants, families, carers, and communities to provide culturally safe and responsive support services across the Kimberley region, including remote Aboriginal communities where access to services is often limited.

We understand the unique challenges faced by people living in remote areas and are committed to ensuring participants can access reliable, flexible, and culturally appropriate supports close to their communities. Our approach is grounded in respect, inclusion, cultural understanding, and empowerment, recognising the importance of connection to family, community, and Country.

Frequently asked questions

We know the NDIS can feel confusing. Here are some common questions, and if you need more help, we are always happy to talk.

The NDIS is a program in Australia that helps people with disabilities get the support they need. It’s designed to give individuals more control over their lives by providing funding for services and equipment tailored to their specific needs.

Here’s how it works: instead of relying solely on government-funded services, the NDIS gives people with disabilities a budget based on their individual requirements. This budget can be used to pay for things like therapy, personal care, equipment, and even help with finding a job.

One of the best things about the NDIS is that it focuses on each person’s goals and aspirations. Instead of offering a one-size-fits-all approach, it’s all about what the individual wants to achieve. Whether it’s learning new skills, becoming more independent, or participating in community activities, the NDIS is there to support those goals.

To access the NDIS, individuals need to meet certain eligibility criteria, including having a permanent disability that significantly impacts their daily life. Once approved, they work with NDIS planners to create a personalized plan outlining their needs and how they want to use their funding.

Core Support includes assistance that enables a person to do their daily life tasks.

Capital Support is for an investment such as funding for capital costs and improvement for equipment, home, or car.

Capacity building Support focuses on you.  It is the combination of supports, services and resources you will require to develop your decision-making skills and become more independent.
