Wings of Support (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our website or receive our services.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. As a registered NDIS provider, we also follow the privacy and confidentiality requirements of the NDIS Practice Standards and the NDIS Code of Conduct.

  • Details about your family, carers, guardians, or nominees
  • Your NDIS number, plan details, and plan management arrangements
  • Aged care details, including My Aged Care information where relevant

Sensitive information

Some information we collect is classed as sensitive information under the Privacy Act. This may include:

  • Health and disability information, including diagnoses, medications, and support needs
  • Information from allied health professionals, doctors, and hospitals
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status
  • Cultural background, language, and religious beliefs
  • Information about risk, safety, or incidents

We only collect sensitive information with your consent, or where the law allows or requires us to collect it.

Employment information

If you apply to work with us, we may collect your resume, work history, qualifications, referee details, police check and NDIS Worker Screening Check results, and right to work information.

Website information

  • IP address, browser type, and device information
  • Pages you visit and time spent on our website
  • Information you enter into contact, enquiry, referral, or feedback forms

We only collect information that we reasonably need to run our services.

2. How We Collect Information

We collect information:

  • Directly from you, in person, by phone, by email, or through our website forms
  • From your family, carers, guardians, or nominees, with your consent
  • From referrers, including support coordinators, plan managers, health services, and government agencies
  • From the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) or the NDIS Commission
  • From My Aged Care or aged care partners where you receive aged care services
  • Through cookies and analytics tools when you use our website

Where it is reasonable and practical, we collect information directly from you.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use your personal information to:

  • Assess referrals and work out if we can meet your needs
  • Plan, deliver, and review your supports
  • Work with you to set and track your goals
  • Keep records required under the NDIS and aged care rules
  • Communicate with you, your family, carers, and other providers
  • Manage payments, invoicing, and NDIS or aged care claims
  • Respond to feedback, complaints, and incidents
  • Meet our legal, funding, and reporting obligations
  • Improve our services and website
  • Recruit and manage staff

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We may share your information with:

  • Your support workers and staff involved in your care
  • Your family, carers, guardians, or nominees, where you agree
  • Other providers involved in your supports, such as allied health, health services, or support coordinators
  • Aged care partners where you receive aged care services through a partnership arrangement
  • The NDIA, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, plan managers, and other funding bodies
  • Contractors who help us run our business, such as software, IT, hosting, and payroll providers
  • Police, courts, or other authorities where the law requires or allows it

We may also share information without your consent where there is a serious risk to your life, health, or safety, or to someone else’s.

We require third parties to protect your information and use it only for the purpose we share it for.

7. Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you. You can also ask us to correct it if you think it is wrong, out of date, or incomplete.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. In some cases the law allows us to refuse access. If we do, we will explain why in writing.

We do not charge to make a request. We may charge a reasonable fee for the cost of providing copies.

8. Making a Complaint

If you think we have not handled your information properly, please tell us. You can contact us using the details below.

We will look into your complaint and respond within a reasonable time. Making a complaint will not affect the supports you receive.
